Yogakshemam 260221: Vision to Flow

Vision to Flow

IRMA Alumni Association, IAA. General body meets virtually to discuss that IAA and IRMA need to be autonomus. But they need to help each other at equals level. IAA needs to have more corpus. IAA constitution can be revisited. A medal for student extraordinary potential to be a development leader par excellence at national-global level can be constituted. We can recognize the alumni, faculty, associates who are making a difference on scale – up, out, deep – with significance in their own ways. Dr Kurine’s Centenary Year is in progress. We need to do things to make it memorable, extra productive and useful to the world and meet up, preferably around 26 November at IRMA. We still hope deep inside that Bharat Ratna can come to this year.

Sarvail Golden Jubilee Celebrations progress. Curtain is raised. 23 November is the day of the culmination. Book on Alumni is in the pipeline. Distinguished in various alternative domains to be recognized. Thanksgiving to all those who made the difference. Including PV. Venka Reddy. Srinivasareddy. The teachers. The co-students.

India talks One India One Election, once in 5 years. We have elections to our collectives, associations, organizations, unions, parties, etc. We have elections in local governments in rural urban areas, primary tier (wards, chairs), intermediate sub-block, block, sub-district, district tiers, without parties, with parties. We have council elections from legislatures, graduates, teachers et al. We have assembly, rajya sabha, lok sabha elections. We have chief ministers, prime minister, cabinets. So on so forth. Can we ever reach this – one election season every five years?

AP has closed non-party panchayat elections. Now it is municipal election time. Sub-block constituency, block, sub-district constituency, district elections are in the pipeline. Bye-elections for assembly seats, parliaments are being announced. Elections for 4 states – West Bengal, Assam, TN, Kerala, and UT – Puducherry announced. May 2 is the result date. Regional equations may be critical. BJP pushes hard in WB. Assam, it is taken as done. TN, too many players. Kerala, LDF has edge.

Telangana sees Sharmila upping the presence. Pavan Kalyan’s Janasena wants to up its presence. Where is Telangana headed?

Visakha Steel. Privatization is not liked. People are on the road. AP wants to buy, if GoI insists. Let us see how it unravels.

Farmers continue in the Delhi borders. Fight persists. Its impact may go on into elections.

1 March – vaccination for 60+ begins. Includes 45+ with illness.

Data Analytics, AI, Machine Learning models of predictions appear to be more accurate than the cause-effect models in predicting the ways of pandemic.

Dr Akshilesh stopped the fight and rested. Our prayers did not work.

It appears I am in serial disasters. Now, it is the turn of the father, being not well.

We know life is rarely predictable. We are also vulnerable to predictable future.
Because we do not want to act on these predicted surprises. As we are quintessential statusquoists. We underplay possibility of these surprises and live in a make believe world. Therefore, it is important that we know where we are as clearly as possible. It is fine even if we donot know precisely where we are headed.

This world needs leadership with morals, ethics but it is short supply. Formal authority is not enough. We also need earned moral authority. Moral leaders connect stronger with people. They build trust. They inspire. They create meaning for work, life, coexistence. They help us imagine better future. This translates as shares linked shared values, mission to margins, principles to profits, success to significance and vice-versa. Then, can we foster moral culture? Can we have moral, ethical capital? Capitalism? Equitable capitalism?

Will we transcend this moral crises, all across, across all aspects of our lives? We want our leaders to be moral, ethical. Will we become one? Can we be well-behaved? Can we do things only those that are good for the world at large? Can we build deep relations? Can we listen, and be open to unlearn, learn, relearn?

Can we realize the blurring boundaries between public and private lives, spheres? Can we know that we are interconnected and interdependent in our private and public lives? Can we display and articulate hope? Can we take our decisions in tune and sync with our purpose always, and can we articulate our purpose clearly? Can we revisit our assumptions again and again? Can we design, nurture, follow systems, processes, practices that uphold the culture of ethics? Truth. Standards. Value Accountability.

Let us be clear to use all the three methods to learn – reflect, imitate-model after, experience. Walk, talk, think, and act like the role model. It works. It helps.

Let us sleep well. Let us learn to sleep well. Let us get exhausted to get to sleep, and fall asleep immediately; let us sleep tight, not waking up in the middle of sleep, again and again; let us sleep enough so that we donot get up still feeling tired. Let us be aware if we are deprived and let us make it up soon. Duration is not the criticality. Quality is. Sleep improves the day, the thinking, the decision-making, relations, wellbeing. It brings in happiness, health and fulfilment. Sleep deep. It is possible for all of us. Take diet right. Have sleep hygiene. Relax. Turn off the mind. Meditate.
