Himachal Pradesh rural development department will the products made by 2.8 lakh women from 27,000 Self Help Groups (SHGs) on the Centre’s eCommerce platform Government e-Marketplace (GeM) and on E-Commerce sites including Amazon, Flipkart, etc. to provide a broader market to their products.
In Bhandara district, Maharashtra, 1.47 lakh women have joined Self Help Groups (SHGs) under National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NRLM). Out of them, around 32,000 women received training on poultry, organic farming, fisheries, etc.
Since the launch of e-Shram portal, over 1 crore unorganised workers have registered on the portal. 43% of those registered are women and 57% are men.
In order to provide training to youth, especially focusing on the jobs related to Indian Railways, the Railway Ministry launched a skill development programme to train 50,000 youth in the next three years.
Institutions under ICAR developed 17 new biofortified varieties of crops to fight malnutrition.
