WHO approves the first anti-malarial vaccine. It recommended the use of the vaccine among children in sub-Saharan Africa and regions with moderate to high P. falciparum malaria transmission. The vaccine could save tens of thousands of lives every year.

 51,991 apprentices hired by over 5,000 + organizations in the National Apprenticeship Mela by Skill India. They will get stipends ranging between Rs. 5,000 to Rs. 9,000 per month. 

ICMR has launched the Multilingual Research & Assessment (MUDRA) Toolbox in Hindi, Bengali, Kannada, Telugu and Malayalam to diagnose dementia. The toolbox has details of various cognition-based tests.

National Institute of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj (NIRD & PR) signed a MoU with Centre for Innovations in Public Systems (CIPS), that will help develop Rural India and bring sustainable transformation through new practices, better technologies, and familiarising rural people with the various programmes for their benefit.

In India, 1.1 lakh schools are taught by a single teacher. 19% of teacher positions (11.16 lakh positions) of India are lying vacant which increases to 69% of positions in rural areas: UNESCO report.
