Livelihoods Update: 2 December 2021

Spending under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) for FY 2020-21 has decreased by 64% compared to last year to Rs. 8,828.11 crore. In FY 2019-20, the spending was Rs. 24,688.66 crore.

Skill Development Ministry announced an initiative for upskilling street vendors in East Delhi. It will facilitate e-cart licences and improve hygienic conditions. In the first phase, Skill India will provide skills to 2,500 vendors aged between 23 to 55 years. 

MGNREGS has not fulfilled the work demanded by labourers, with work generation being only 11.66 crore person-days in November 2021 as compared to 22.23 crore person-days in October 2021. The work generation decreased by 50.5% compared to November 2020.

Out of Rs. 5,31,279.08 lakh allocated to Poshan Abhiyan scheme (for controlling malnutrition) only Rs. 2,98,555.92 lakh has been used: Women and Child Development Ministry.

To date, 1.65 lakh electric vehicles have received support and subsidy under FAME India scheme Phase 2.
