West Bengal is promoting saline-tolerant rice (Nona Swarna) to protect paddy farmers from crop damages due to cyclones. It has supported 4 lakh farmers in cultivating this rice in 50,000 ha in East Midnapore, North and South 24 Parganas.
Chhattisgarh will implement its Godhan Nyay Yojana on a mission mode. Under it, cow dung is purchased by govt. at Rs. 2 per kg, and women SHGs convert it into organic fertilizer.
Odisha Government identified 6970 beggars (4128 male and 2842 female) as beneficiaries of the Sahaya scheme. The scheme has resulted in the creation of beggar rehabilitation centres to restore beggars to mainstream society.
Under Mukhya Mantri Khet Sanrakshan Yojana, Himachal Pradesh protected 4669.2 hectares of crops by solar power fences. It has spent Rs. 175.38 crore for it, benefiting 5535 farmers.
In the IndiaSkills 2021 Regional Competition – South, Kerala topped the 5 south zone with 32 (16 gold and 16 silver) medals. It saw 400 participants between 19 and 24 years participate in 51 skills including auto body repair, welding, painting and decorating, beauty, etc.
