Today i.e. January 24th is celebrated as the National Girl Child Day by the Women and Child Development Ministry. It aims to spread awareness on female foeticide, gender inequality, discrimination, violence, etc.

India became the largest exporter of gherkins or pickled cucumbers. In FY 2021, India exported 2.23 metric tonnes of cucumbers and gherkins worth USD 223 million.
