Livelihoods Update: 15 March 2022

India’s first digital water bank was launched in Bengaluru city yesterday. The bank allows users to open accounts and report surplus water they have as savings, which will be converted as tokens whose price will go up and based on demand.

The Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) will provide skill training to 250 women from April. This two-month training will be free of cost and will enable the woman to get employed in electronic companies.

The COVID-19 vaccination for children in the age group of 12 to 14 will begin from tomorrow i.e., 16th March.

3.08 crore scholarships were given to minority community students in 5 years, for which Rs. 9904 crore was spent, in 4 schemes: Minority Affairs Minister.

Government is planning to renew 13 major rivers by enhancing forest cover in India by 7400 sq km, reducing CO2, improving groundwater by 1889 Million cubic metre per year, and creating employment.
