Uncovering the hidden women leaders!

Team Akshara Livelihoods visited Tangutoor and Sammeta Villages in Shankarpally Mandal, Ranga Reddy District on 6th March 2022 to provide training on SHG Group Dynamics and Leadership. The training was done as a part of the Family Strengthening Program of SOS Children’s Village.

The training was given using a demonstrative method, which included role plays, some games, interesting activities, etc. We touched upon various important aspects including:  

  1. Need for leadership
  2. A leader’s characteristics
  3. Types of leadership (autocratic leadership, dummy leadership, anarchic leadership and democratic leadership)
  4. Norms,
  5. SHG Saptasutra (Meetings, savings, internal lending, repayment, book-keeping, solidarity and collective enterprises).

In the end, it is about igniting the dormant leadership skills present in each and every one of those women.
