33 people associated with the polls, died due to heatstroke on the last day of the 7th phase of Lok Sabha Elections, in UP. This includes home guards, sanitation workers and other poll staff: UP Chief Electoral Officer.

 

The water levels of India’s 150 main reservoirs, has dropped to 23%, which is 77% lower than the values last year at this point of time: Central Water Commission Data.

 

The Central Government has issued an advisory on Bird Flu, asking all States and UTs to monitor for any unusual deaths amongst birds and poultry, after Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Jharkhand and Kerala report Bird Flu outbreaks.

 

The 77th World Health Assembly has accepted amendments to the International Health Regulations 2005, after 300 proposals made by member states.
