Budget 2025 Highlights:

PM Dhan Dhyan Krishi Yojana launched in 100 low-yield districts, benefiting 1.7 crore farmers.

6-year Atmanirbharta Programme for Pulses with a focus on tur, urad, and masoor to reduce import dependence.

New schemes for vegetable & fruit production to ensure remunerative prices for farmers.

Urea Plant in Assam with a 12.7 lakh tonne capacity to enhance domestic fertilizer supply.

The Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare budget increased by 4% (₹1.37 lakh crore from ₹1.32 lakh crore last year).

Food subsidy: ₹2.03 lakh crore (increased from ₹1.97 lakh crore in FY25).

Fertilizer subsidy: ₹1.67 lakh crore (reduced from ₹1.71 lakh crore in FY25).

MGNREGS budget remains unchanged despite rising rural employment needs.

PM Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) allocation remains the same as last year.

Revamped PM SVANidhi scheme: Enhanced loans for street vendors. UPI-linked credit cards with ₹30,000 limit.

1.5 lakh rural post offices to be transformed into logistics hubs.

Identity cards & e-Shram registration for gig workers under PM Jan Arogya Yojana.

Gender Budget increased by 37.5% to ₹4.49 lakh crore (8.86% of total budget).

Child Budget increased by only 5.65% to ₹1.16 lakh crore.

Education received the highest allocation of ₹89,420 crore (+5.16%).

Concerns over declining share of child welfare funds (only 2.29% of total budget).

New scheme for 5 lakh women entrepreneurs (especially SC/ST).

New Entrepreneurship Scheme for SC/ST communities to support 5 lakh first-time entrepreneurs.

More engineering & medical seats for SC/ST students via IITs & medical colleges expansion.

Hostel & infrastructure expansion at IIT Patna to accommodate marginalized students.

Credit-guarantee cover enhanced for MSMEs & startups.

₹10,000 crore additional funding for startups, in addition to the existing government support.

Export Promotion Mission to improve MSME access to easy credit & global markets.

Support for the National Cooperative Development Corporation to enhance rural financing.
