Transgender. Intersex. Third gender, third sex. Non-binary identities – agender, bigender, intergender, genderfluid, pangender, beyond gender, et al. Hijra. Gender identity is different from the sex assigned at birth. May transit medically, transition to transsexual. Transgenders are about 0.5-1% of the population. Sexual orientation is a different concept, dimension from gender identities. India now recognizes the third gender formally too. By and large, society has started to accept these identities publicly. Maybe reluctantly. More and more people are also opening up on their gender identities. Some of them leave their families to join the transgender community groups. Media, films, television, et al have increased transgender portrayals in a serious note and tone. Discrimination is going down. 

We, humans, reason, argue, and decide through causal reasoning, temporal logic, cross-domain insights, counterfactual thinking, and strategic focus, rather than depending only on past trends-patterns. AI is still to get to this. It may predict; may not offer a usable solution. Like us, can AI come to the crux, core quickly? Future AI would. Applied strategic intelligence – time, systems, mindsets, and behaviours.

In our workforce, we need to ‘switch off’ the elderly into withdrawal or more age-appropriate roles. At the same time, 2-3% new and young people should join every year. We should know how to work with them. Many have no baggage of previous work experience. They may be in the present, compared to others who may be in the past. With high energy levels. Some of them could be highly social conscious. They are faster, faster in learning and they are in tune with emerging trends, patterns. They are at ease with diversity, inclusion naturally. Their learning curve is steeper. They look forward to experiencing it. They are savvy in virtual work, multi-tasking. May be less diligent, less efficient, and less cost-effective. 

Are we businessmen or entrepreneurs? Are we running businesses, or enterprises? Individually or collectively? Can we take risks, can we persist, can we vision, can we make a difference, and can we scale? Can we transcend making money somehow, to making money purposefully, focused for people in general, and for PVM in particular? 

It is said: Ease of doing business is improved. Ease of doing good, ease of being useful? Isn’t it becoming tougher? Compliance burden, complications, and complexity are increasing. 100+ items on the checklists for verification, confirmation, and audit?  Many of them are struggling. Many are operating sub-optimally, with smaller teams. Struggling to be there.

In the amrt kaal, future is beckoning. Can we make a tryst with destiny again? Waking up to our fullest expression of our life, peace, and freedom. For better lives, living, livelihoods, leadership, leveraging, learning, and love of all PVM in ancient, eternal, evolving Bhaarat, and outside. Being there and bettering as long as there is suffering. Millions of us for Billions of us. More prosperous democratic progressive ‘us’. Social, economic, and political institutions for justice and fullness to all of us. Equity, inclusion, and diversity. Equal rights, privileges, possibilities, opportunities, and obligations. Can we let us take charge of our identity, solidarity, capacity, rights-entitlements, livelihoods, wellbeing, lives, choices, freedom, and destinies? With amrt intent, space, ability, and agency fully blossomed.
