Harvard University gets a USD 2.3B funding freeze from the Government of USA. Government has also threatened to cut its international student intake. Harvard responded: University would not surrender its independence or relinquish its constitutional rights. It appears other Universities are falling in line with Government’s directives.
Harvard is top-ranked globally. It is an example of a benchmarked institution. Any institute is shaped not by the diversity of its students. Peer learning through sharing of lived experiences is an important academic process. Admissions could be based on how applicants think, their motivations, personal growth, and unique qualities such as leadership, creativity, utilising given resources to their best and bouncing back from hardships. Class as a whole is prepared, rather than the students.
