1775 Surat Treaty between Raghunathrao, Peshwa claimant, and British East India Company was annulled in 1776. A new Purandhar Treaty signed between Nana Phadnavis and East India Company. Bombay (East India Company) insisted on the 1775 treaty as valid. First Anglo-Maratha War ending in 1782 settled the issue; Madhavrao II was accepted as Peshwa, with Raghunathrao getting pension.

Many states are concerned about delimitation of Lok Sabha constituencies. Will it increase seats in Lok Sabha? Rajya Sabha? Overall. Will it increase seats for some states more? And for other states will they remain unchanged or come down? Is it punishing the states who ensured better population control, by reducing their representation in Parliament? Should it use 1971 population figures, or should it be postponed by some 20-30 years further? If the number of seats do not increase, how can the seats in Lok Sabha be distributed without reduction in seats for some states? If the seats increase in Lok Sabha, how can the proportions be the same?
Only 10% of India speaks English. It seems strong English skills – give higher paying jobs; economic mobility. 90% high-pay jobs seek English proficiency. English fluency offers 30-50% higher pay; major tech hubs operate in English; premier institutes teach, research in English; AI advancements are in English. We need the mother tongue to read faster, grasp better, learn quicker; local languages to communicate to most people. Can we ignore learning better English? To think, read, write, articulate, and argue in English. We need certified qualification. Literacy was enough once. Then matriculation; later, intermediate/higher secondary; graduation, graduation in STEM, 4-year professional graduation, and post-graduation. From a reputed institute.
