Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, 74, resigns late in the night. Not sure what caused this resignation – it does not appear to be health. Now there would be an election to fill the vacancy. The new incumbent is entitled to hold office for a full term of 5 years. In the interim, the Deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha, Harivansh Narayan Singh, would preside over the House. Bihar’s ongoing electoral rolls revision has purged 52 lakh names. 18 lakh voters reported dead; 26 lakh moved to other constituencies; 7 lakh registered in more than one place. More may follow. It is expected that we have revision across India soon.

NIRD’s budget has been slashed to Rs.1 lakh a year. We have not heard how it would move forward? Will it use internal generated revenue and corpus fund interest, for recurring costs? Is it going on a resource mobilization drive? Is it generating sponsored projects? Is it stepping up paid consulting, training etc.? Is it asking for a graduated tapering of grant-in-aid?
Earth is just one planet among 3 trillion in the Milky Way galaxy alone. Our Sun, the life-giving centre of our solar system, is just one star out of 200 billion within our galaxy. Our observable universe contains over 2 trillion galaxies. Thus, our solar system is like a pixel in the cosmic canvas. Earth, a tiny speck. Somewhere out there, other worlds, maybe even other life, could be waiting to be discovered. On this tiny speck, 8 billion people live. And we are just one of them. The life of this world is billions of years. Our lifetime is just 100 years, maybe less. Not even 0.00000001%. Humbling. Awe inspiring. Can we get this? Why do we keep forgetting, ignoring this?
Can we serve the world’s change agents? Can we press for going full throttle for scaling? Can we offer unrestricted support? Can we be with the good, cost-effective, simple, scalable ones? Already on the verge of crossing the critical scale. How does the scaling, viraling happen? Can we help in this? Can we help in getting, building and supporting scale leadership, systems, people, strategies, resources et al? Can we help in visioning and inspiring for scale deep, up, out? Can we build team(s) for all this?
