The Sundarban mangroves are losing their resilience due to human induced pollution, but it is still working hard. Currently, the Sundarbans absorb 15-25% equivalent of Bangladesh’s national carbon emissions, which is almost 5 times more carbon than upland tropical forests: Study.

 

Scientists warn that temperatures rising to above 5°C – 12°C above normal, are damaging India’s ecological cycles. Himalayan flowering is happening 20-25 days earlier, there is delayed bird nesting and early forest fires are destroying ground nests: Study.

 

The Gaza war had generated approximately 3.3 Million tonnes of CO2 emissions in the first 6 months. 30% of the emissions were due to IDF bombings, 53% due to energy intensive reconstruction attempts, and 1.5 Million Tonnes due to US Cargo flights: Study.

 

85% of India’s districts are experiencing an increase in warm nights over the past 10 years, and 30% have seen more high-humidity heatwaves. The study suggests heat-resilient urban planning to handle climatic conditions: Study.

The Skill Development Ministry is working with the GATI Foundation, to boost India’s global skills mobility ecosystem, with intent to map international demand for more than 50 lakh skilled Indian youth every year by 2030.
