Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch a ₹62,000 crore initiative on October 4 to enhance education, skilling, and entrepreneurship in India, and it includes the PM SETU scheme of Rs. 60,000 crore.

 

Nearly 150 million Indians suffer from stress, anxiety and depression, and 50% of Indian women face chronic stress; could cost trillions of dollars in lost output by 2030 if left unaddressed: ABET Social Impact Report 2024-25.

 

The Union Cabinet has approved a 6 year plan to boost pulses production, at a cost of Rs. 11,000 crore, to ensure price stability for pulses.

 

The Central Government has raised the MSP for wheat by Rs. 160 per quintal i.e. 6.6%. Highest MSP increase was for safflower (Rs. 660), followed by lentils (Rs. 300).

 

RBI MPC unanimously decided to maintain the policy repo rate unchanged at 5.5%, and the stance unchanged as neutral, due to strong domestic growth, low inflation and GST reforms.

 

The Union Cabinet approved a proposal to raise Dearness Allowance for Central Government employees and pensioners by 3%, to a total of 58%, effective from 1st July 2025.
