Livelihoods Update: 11 September 2021

India sends 3 entries to be considered for the title of “Best Tourism Villages” bestowed by the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO). The villages are Kongthong (Meghalaya), Bhoodan Pochampally (Telangana) and Ladhpura Khas (Madhya Pradesh).

Union Government launched 7 food processing projects worth Rs. 164 crore in Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu yesterday. It will provide direct and indirect employment to 3,100 people and benefit 16,500 farmers and entrepreneurs.

Centre extends the Transport and Marketing Assistance (TMA) for Specified Agriculture Products Scheme to dairy products. Furthermore, it has increased rates of reimbursement by 50% for exports through sea and 100% through the air.

As per West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, 3 crore people have gone till date to the 2nd set of “Duare Sarkar” camps (an outreach program to provide people the benefit of the State’s schemes) that started from August 16 and will end on September 15.

Union Government announces the availability of credit for high density plantation scheme (HDPS) under the Agricultural Infrastructure Fund (AIF). This will facilitate Jammu and Kashmir’s capital support scheme target of 5500 HA of high density plantation in net5 years for horticulture.
