Livelihoods Update: 17 January 2022

Rajasthan Government has launched a new scheme to support women, called “I am Udaan”. Under it, the Government will ensure every girl and woman gets free sanitary napkins.

The West Bengal Government has started to check the damage to crops due to unseasonal rain from January 11th in the state and plans to advise farmers on how to protect their crops from insects.

NABARD has decided that Odisha State’s credit potential is Rs. 1,34,665 crore, which is a 21.61% increase over last year. Out of this, Rs. 52,050.78 crore is for agriculture.

Himachal Pradesh Rural Development Minister stated that rural marts are being set up near highways to help market products made by women SHGs. 

The Assam Government has decided to set up an Agricultural Commission with involvement of agricultural scientists and experts. This will result in higher farmer earnings, and in general higher per capita income in Assam.
