Union Minister Amit Shah announced that the Centre is working on formulating a cooperative sector policy. He also announced the establishment of a national-level cooperative university.

Himachal Pradesh is providing self-employment opportunities to youth under Mukhyamantri Swavalamban Yojana. It aims to curb the emigration of youth to cities to find work. So far, it has facilitated bank loans of Rs. 860.15 crore for investment in 4862 units, which employ 14551 people.

Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) distributed 200 bee boxes, 100 electric pottery wheels and 50 agarbatti making machines to local rural artisans in Uttar Pradesh’s Bundelkhand region. 

CSC e-Governance Services India and Infosys are partnering together, to help upgrade the skills of 6 crore Indian students between ages of 10-22 years of rural India.  Infosys Springboard (digital platform) will help speed up-skilling and enhance employability potential.

The United Way of Hyderabad (UWH) NGO started its 2nd Free Skill Training Centre in Manchirevula village of Narsingi, Telangana. It plans to train 250 youth in its first year in entrepreneurship skills.
