Bhaskar Rao and Padma are 62 years old. They migrated from Ananthapur to Guntur in search of greener pastures. They started a street food business 3 years back near Grand Bazar Super Market in Guntur. The couple makes and sells the items only during the morning times. Their menu is Chitt plain & kharam dosas (Rs. 10), Egg dosa (Rs. 20) and Idli (Rs. 5). The couple serves these savouries with groundnut chutney; they source the groundnuts from Anantapur. The couple are making around Rs. 2000/- daily from this business; out of which, they make a decent net income of Rs. 1000. Their recurring costs include groceries and pushcart rent of Rs. 900 while their fixed costs were on buying heavy iron pans and utensils. The secret for their success is the yummy and authentic taste of their Chitti dosas, which has made everyone a fan of them. So next time you visit Guntur don’t forget to eat here.
