Punjab Government’s “Udaan” scheme, intends to give free sanitary pads to needy women every month, in 27314 Anganwadi centres (AWCs). Initially, every AWC will give sanitary pads to 50 women, and the total expected coverage is 13.65 lakh women.

India is going to miss its annual target of 2.4 million TB case notifications, which is assumed to be due to cases being undetected. This is because most health resources are being used towards controlling COVID-19 pandemic. Due to this, the risk of TB infection turning into disease has risen: WHO.

Under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY), around 1.32 crore candidates (0.67 crore in short term training (STT) and 0.65 crore in recognition of prior (RPL)) have been trained.

1,16,496 road accidents occurred on national highways (NHs), including expressways, in 2020 in India, which caused 47,984 deaths. It was lesser in comparison to 2019, when 1,37,191 accidents took place on NHs, including expressways, which caused 53,872 deaths.

Union Government notified a central sector scheme worth Rs 28,400 crore for industrial development in Jammu and Kashmir. This scheme is going to provide employment to more than 4.5 lakh people in the Union Territory.
